Cusp dates
Zodiac cusp dates
A cusp is the change from one zodiac sign to the next. It happens on one of two calendar days each year, and on those days the birth year, time and place decide your Sun sign.

What a cusp is and is not
Each sign covers 30 degrees of the ecliptic. The Sun crosses from one sign into the next at a single moment, so nobody is born half one sign and half the other. The standard tables round that moment to a calendar day. In 2026 to 2028 the change lands on the first standard day of the new sign or the day before it, measured in UTC, and your local time can move it by a day either way.
Popular astrology uses the word more loosely, for anyone born a few days either side of the change. Each guide covers both: the exact times first, then the popular reading, labelled as such.

Use the birthday sign lookup or the year calendars for 2026, 2027 and 2028. For other years you need an ephemeris or a chart calculator.
